Does he redesign those vehicles just for fun or the manufacturers find his sketches useful? He does a nice work though.

I don’t mean this as an insult to the Z32 but I can’t stand it when people claim it looks “modern”. It is no doubt a beautiful and clean design, but it looks every bit of it’s late 80’s early 90’s age. It’s styling works for the era it was part of, and I think people should leave it there. I will say that the 240Z/S30 might be the only somewhat timeless looking Z in a general sense. The new Z makes many modern changes to the S30 motif’s to make it not appear 50 years old but still keep the themes that make it so beautiful.

Had the 300ZX design been used for the new Z without ANY changes, I would’ve been very happy as it’s still gorgeous and artistically relevant in the automotive landscape as well as being futuristic looking without being contrived or overwrought (I’m looking - wincing - at you, MKV Supra). The redesign in the video would be a hard pass as it simply didn’t look as good as the original and appeared to be more a tribute to the last-Gen Audi A5 Coupe than anything else. Kudos to the guy for trying - no harm, no foul. I simply didn’t think it looked good.

I just want headlights that aren't as round. Not the greatest example but something to the effect of these could work.

Looks good, but I wonder how the lights would look if they were in the shape of the letter “Z”…
