Nissan has revealed a Nismo version of the Patrol and it's interesting to say the least. What does everyone think about what Nissan/Nismo have done? I like the interior upgrades they made but I don't know about the body kit.

5.6-liter V8
428 horsepower
413 pound-feet (560 Newton-meters) of torque
Bilstein suspension
22-inch wheels
LED fog light similar to a F1 car
Aggressive body kit

I know it's kind of silly, but I also kind of love it.

Interior is beautiful.
The styling is a bit much, but I like that. I've seen some really crazy versions of the Lexus LX for sale recently that are along these lines. I'll see if I can find one.

I respect Nismo for doing stuff like this still. Especially with how Nissan has been financially.

I'd be curious to see how those LX's compare to this.

If I were buying the Patrol (Infiniti QX80 here in the US), I suppose I’d want it to have as much power and handle and brake as well as possible, so the Nismo version makes sense. What doesn’t make sense is driving a massive, overweight SUV in a the aggressive manner implied by its Nismo pkg. I hope to see in the future is a true successor to the first new car I ever owned, a 1990 Sentra SE-R. Perhaps a Nismo version of THAT car would actually sell in large numbers and satisfy a need for affordable performance in which Subaru and Honda seem to dominate. Modify the Sentra to accommodate the Altima’s/Infiniti’s turbo four and you’d have a winner. Just don’t forget to make a manual transmission an option. The QX80 is a rolling anachronism that won’t exist past the end of this decade - if that long - so get ‘em while you still can.
