Not a big fan of the C8 design but developments like this make up for it I think.

8600 RPM on a flat crank V8 producing 670hp is a hell of a development.

You can get 13" wide carbon fiber 21 wheels. That's pretty crazy 😧

All that for what, $85,000? Amazing. Might consider getting one eventually.

Hand built engine, too. Almost the same as their racing program.

Good luck trying to find one stickered or sold for that...

regular C8s are going for 100K right now. the new corvette values are one of the craziest car markets out there as they are so hard to get. the 2022 my dad has ordered stickers at like 89K. he probably wont get it until spring.

these z06's speced out will be 120-130 (before the mark ups) still an insane price for what looks to be a world beater

To me, it begs the question....

If that can be built for a price point under 100K...

What could be built with a shared transverse drivetrain mounted behind the driver's seat, and half the horsepower and less weight.

If this is the new definition of a Corvette... what would be today's Fiero GT or MR2 Turbo equivalent for half the price and half the power, and 10% less weight and exterior size.

Engineering Explained did a great deep dive into the Z06's engine and how it makes more power than the bigger engine it replaces.

If i had one nitpick on the Z06's design is the wing in the back. I'm sure there's a reason why it's shaped like that but to me it seems like it's too much.

A lot of race worthy tech, still a bargain, but no way to get one under $120k IMO. Does Chevy control ADM's on MSRP? Based on current C8 market, it's also at dealers' mercy.

I'm not exactly sure buy my guess is that they don't and it's going to be another nightmare of ridiculous markups.

A friend of mine in New Jersey just decided he wants one. He called several dealers and all told him the current "market adjustment" is 30K.

He's now decided he doesn't want one THAT badly right now.
