The best advice if you’ve gotta be the first kid on the block with this new toy is to have too much money and to be ready to spend it. I’d guess $5k to $10k over MSRP is what it’d take for many to get their dealer to agree to a pre-order.
You’re a good guesser. I have put a small refundable deposit down on one to be guaranteed a pick from the first allocation at $5k over MSRP. It’s my first new car and I’m treating myself for once. There is no pre-order though. Apparently, they’ll be given some allocation and hopefully I can get a blue interior/exterior performance manual which is my first choice.
