Hey all,

So I've called a local exhaust specialist (will keep which company exactly to myself for now) to get a quote on a new exhaust system in preparation for when the Z comes out.

I just wanted to get some feedback from everyone as I've never purchased a new exhaust before so I am not sure if these figures are a little excessive or not.

The job that I asked a quote on was for the following.
If turbo back:
  • Replace diverter valves with GFB blow-off valves instead
  • Replace complete exhaust system with 409 stainless steel (304 is higher grade but I was told it sounds more tinny and 409 will give me that throaty sound I want)
  • Get the car programmed as it will need it
  • Keep the car for around 4 days
  • Price: $7,000

If cat back:
  • Replace diverter valves with GFB blow-off valves instead
  • Replace cat back only with 409 stainless steel
  • Keep the car for around 3 days
  • Price: $3,500

Are these prices fairly normal or are they trying to milk me?

Cheers.

you are getting bent of a barrel. And shown the 50 states. A full TI Turbo back. Wouldn’t even be 7k
