Good afternoon all from sunny Newcastle in Australia.

I was a member of the 350Z forum way back when and thought I'd join to keep my ear to the ground on the new Z.

I brought a Track edition 350Z in Red when they first came out and loved it.

I am interested in some sort of Nismo special or something. Hopefully something will pop up in the next couple of years?

I am also looking at the new Corvette and a couple of other things.

I've moved on since the 350Z to a number of new cars and currently drive a Long Beach Blue M2 Competition.

Look forward to some great info on the forum.

Hi @HFW003 and welcome to the forum! Nothing's been confirmed yet about a Nismo version but I don't think it's unreasonable to expect one within the next couple of years. What stands out to you between the Z and Corvette?

Also, how long have you had the M2 Competition for?

Thanks for the welcome.

I've had the M2C for two years now and it is an exceptionally good car. I may eve just get another when I'm due but I do like to change every now and then.

I've attached a couple of pics with my other toy :)

The Z and Corvette aren't the only option. I will also be looking at the RS3, 718 and whatever pops up. Looking performance based two door car that looks good and has a nice interior.

There are a couple of issues for me with the Corvette though. It's American so I need to see the interior before I buy one and, not sure where you are, but down here they are going to be significantly more expensive than even the new M2.

The same sort of applies to the new Z. I need to see the interior before i would buy one. I have been very spoilt with BMW interiors for the last 15 years or so.

Anyway, I have a bit of time to make my mind up.

Be safe.

Welcome @HFW003. How would you spec your new Z?
Hello and thanks for the welcome.

At this stage I wouldn't buy one. I would be interested in a special or performance model.

Time will tell!

Be safe

I've heard good things about the Corvette's interior but of course that's all personal taste. I don't blame you for looking at the RS3, that 5 cylinder engine is a work of art.

Since you're interested in a Nismo/performance spec Z are there any performance specs/details you'd need to see compared to the standards cars? or are you more focused on the styling?

I suppose the performance is somewhat up in the air until they are actually released down here but I would like to see it be at least as quick as my car and handle just as well.

Who knows what that's going to take, if anything?

I would also like to see similar styling cues to what BMW did between the 2 series and the M2. Like a widebody kit if you will, but not the squared/boxed in ones I've seen renders of. If you look at the quarters of the M2 that is what I would like, nice a smooth and fat. I would also like to see it lowered a couple of inches all round, front lip etc.

One of the very few issues with my car is getting the power to the ground, all it want to do is go sideways, I have tried to improve this by putting wider PS4's (275 R and 255 F) all round. I imagine the new Z will have similar issues so a wider wheel and tyre package should also be in there.

The last thing is the steering wheel. Most of the new cars I've owed, even going back to the 350Z, the steering wheels are covered in some sort ordinary leather which gets shiny and sticky no matter how well you look after it. I got the guys at Royal in the UK to supply my a new wheel (Pic below) which I had covered in "proper" nappa and ventilated leather. It would be good to see something like that in the new Z as well.

It would also be good to see some interiors upgrades like the use of carbon fibre (not gloss though) etc.,

That's enough I think :)
