I really liked this article and it made me think about the Z.
I wonder if the rumors are true about the price of the new Z. How could Nissan give that price point.

Good article and I think it really sums up how a lot of people that haven’t been around the Supras feel. Is it the best car out there for the price? No, but we all new the name was going to drive the price up. It disappoints the average enthusiast because it’s not a pure Toyota product and doesn’t have a manual transmission. I enjoy mine and know several people that track there’s with no issues.

As for the new Z, I don’t think it’ll have those issues. Nissan is piecing together existing parts that have already been proven to work well from their own inventory. Not only does this keep things in house with proven performance, but it’ll also help to keep pricing down since little R&D was involved or needed for new technology.

I’m excited for the Z to release and park next to my Supra, and I’m fully expecting the Z to outperform the Supra stock vs stock.

That seems to be the the most logical assumption. Japan has committed to banning new gas powered cars produced in 2035 and Nissan has publicly stated most of its line up will conform to this by having only electric cars in key markets.

So As long as the 370z was around it makes sense the Z35 will probably take us right up to the end of the ICE era

There were still talks about the upcoming Nismo Z having hybrid power, transitioning away from the ICE era. I wouldn't mind that, the power increase plus sweet range for long trips. Just how long to wait for this though....
