I'm really looking forward to the new Z and have been reading every article I can find for a while now. Good to see there's a forum up. This is going to be my first new car purchase ever and I want to enjoy the whole pre-order journey.

My dream car in college was a 370Z, but I didn't have the money and it just wasn't the right time for me. My grandparents gave me their little Nissan product - a 1-owner Infiniti G20 -- and I drove that all through college. Really helped bond me even more with Nissan/Infiniti products. That was a great car for what it was -- handled well with its independent rear suspension, SR20DE, 3000 lbs, incredibly supportive leather seats, I could go on...

I finally have a handle on my student loans now and can afford a new sports car, so long as I'm not out of work from the virus!

I don't have many photos left of the G20 because I lost so many college photos when an older laptop suddenly died. That was a lesson for me to keep everything in the cloud (which I do now).

Anyone else have a Nissan/Infiniti connection?

The Arizona sun completely ate through the clear coat in places, unfortunately:

Hey @fairlady! Nice to meet another member here already! Very cool photo of your G20, I feel those cars were under appreciated for how fun they can be. My cousin had one and he drove it everywhere he could!
They were underappreciated! I think if Nissan/Infiniti had launched a version with forced induction those cars would have been more notable. Even with only NA engines they were good cars.

The new Z will be a real step up though. The performance of cars today is just unbelievable. You have the new 2020 Supra doing 0-60 in just 3.8 seconds. I imagine Nissan will want to make the new Z even faster than the Supra. Just wow.

I have no doubt that they have sights directly on the Supra. Now if it can beat the Supra that would be fantastic. Especially if they do it without any help from ze Germans :p.

Yes! I'm hoping for a 100% Nissan powertrain. This is a chance for Nissan to launch another sports car that makes the world take notice like the R35 GT-R did.

it better be 100% Nissan, the last thing they need is to have the diehards turn on them like the Supra fans did to Toyota.
The Supra was definitely a learning opportunity. You can't use such a respected sports car name when half the car is going to come from Germany. This new Z needs to be all Nissan. We're not looking for a Renault engine or something like that -- all Nissan!!!
