My intro

Had a 1987 300ZX in 1988, drove it until it had 100K miles on it, gave it my teenage son and he drove it until it had about 145K miles on it.
Been driving a 2006 Mercedes SLK350 Hardtop convertible for 13 years, and thinking of getting a new car if I can find something I like better. Been looking at Porsche 718 Boxster, BMW Z4 M40i, and C8, but all are very expensive. One son owns a 911 Porsche and wants me to buy a Porsche, another son works for GM working on the electric Hummer and wants me to buy the C8.

I loved my 1987 300ZX, my 2002 Maxima GLE,my 2007 and 2008 Altimas, my 2016 Frontier SL, and a couple other Nissans. So, I am going to consider looking at the new Z as it has the things I want in a car (except being a convertible). We will see. Just glad the new Z won't have a CVT tranny. Good grief, I never liked those in the Altimas.

Anyway, this forum looks very informative, so Ill stick around and learn a lot from you all.

Hey @One More Z welcome to the forum! You've come to the right place for Z info. If you choose the Z are you going to get the automatic or go with the manual?

That's really cool that your son is working on the new Hummer! What kind of work does he do for GM?

Welcome to the forum.
Have you had the chance to test drive at any of the vehicles you looked into so far?
My previous ZX was manual, but I was young and preferred that. I would only consider the automatic even though both my sons drive manuals. The last manual I drove was a 1993 RX7 twin turbo in 1997. I got tired of changing gears (but my motorcycle is a manual lol). My son works on designing the suspension for the Hummer.

I went and sat in a BMW Z4 M40i, but have not driven anything yet. I just wanted to see if the interior was to my liking (and it was). It is a beautiful car, but it is expensive (to me). The new Z is going to offer a lot of the same at a lower price point. I just like convertibles, so that might be the only issue. We'll see after I sit in one.

Welcome to the forum @dangbichha19259! Have you owned Zs before or this one your first?

If I were a betting man I'd say once you experience how much power is available for the price the Z will make you forget about the Z4.
