New Z with same 370Z chassis

As the title states. I’m curious based on spy pictures at Nurburgring will the next Z have what’s claimed as 240 retro styling outside panels and the same 370Z chassis? We know the VR30DDTT already fits on this chassis. For Nissan this makes financial sense and for us tuners would be great. After market suspension parts would be plentiful from the get go. Of course I’d like to see a wider, lighter, and more underslung version. But I wouldn’t complain.

That’s right. Significant update to the Z34 with the brand new Z35 in ‘25.

The new Nissan Z is "said" to have retro styling.

It started with the only solid thing we have to go off of, the retro style logo, revealed in an official Nissan patent. More: Nissan just revealed the new Z logo!

My hope is it looks something to the effect of this...

There was another news article posted yesterday through car buzz that suggested the chassis would be all new with lighter material (aluminum). So that’s good to know.

Nissan is supposed to announce its plans for restructuring and chassis reduction/consolidation in May. That should be when we get confirmation on what the plan is for the Z.

That’s interesting. Not sure what sells they expect when the option of just waiting for the next Z is there. Not a bad idea either if it’s a manual. Sure it will be. Curious of the pricing also. The more I think about it most just want the VR30DDTT and with the 370 being out for awhile the market has a lot to offer for us enthusiasts. Nissan needs to do a full release of what they plan to do both ways.

I had heard the all new car wouldn’t come out until ‘25. That would make an updated 370 make more sense. I think Nissan is releasing its plan for restructuring/line reduction in May so we should/could know more then.

I’ve seen that same statement about 2025 before from well known guys on other forums too. It would make sense but that would be awful. Longest running model ever it would seem. I’d still buy one if it went that long. Just ready for them to release information.

I agree with you. Consider the alternatives though of no Z at all or the current Z34 for 5 more years. While not as good as a new Z35, this heavily updated/modified Z34 is still a very nice upgrade in my opinion

Agreed.

It will still be a true Z-car at the end of the day which i'm happy about. Toyota not so much by partnering up with BMW but at least the new Supra still turned out to be a proper sports car...just not a true Toyota.

Nissan on the other hand can do a lot to this chassis and the rest of the 400Z to have it feel completely different. That said, does anyone have good knowledge on the chassis and what we could expect from it here?

I don’t mind this so much. The fact it looks hideous. Nothing like the FT1 they showed off for a few years.

I guy in a forum on GTPlanet.com works at Nissans test facility in Arizona. He says they have had a test mule there with 3.0TT and 6 speed manual for awhile and have been benchmarking with competing cars also on sight. He says it’s a new car on the current platform. No convertible.

A lot of reports being thrown around. Good on one extinct. That some of these rumors have to source from someone on the inside. Maybe. Interesting that we pretty positive it will have the VR30DDTT. But this article mentions FMI (front mount intercooler). I sure hope so. Obviously would be so much more efficient. And be able to upgrade. I personally don’t want a water cooled intercooler.

Then the claim of all new suspension, LSD, and so on. Pretty much a ground up rethink. Give it bigger brakes or a least a GTR BBK factory upgrade. Now we talking. Lol.
