A Nissan 370Z test mule has been spotted driving around the Nurburgring.

As far as the body is concerned it pretty much looks like a regular 370Z, but the front fascia makes me wonder if it's hiding a new powertrain underneath.

Production doesn’t start for over a year so we are probably several months off from seeing camo pre-production cars running around.

They probably only have one or two concepts under wraps and a clay model. They probably start production on panels for test cars within the next few months.

I mean if the next Z is based on the platform of the current car, then I'm sure it's fairly easy to use the current car as a surrogate to test the driveability/reliability/etc of the drive/powertrain for the upcoming car. I'd be interested in knowing what the car in the images sounded like. Could you hear the turbos? Did the car sound like it was using a manual transmission or something like a DCT? The pics alone aren't telling us a whole lot.
