That should work well here thanks to how similar the front end proportions are to the older models.
With that we should see some retro wheels since it's the easiest thing to change.

That sure seems to be the most likely but I hope they go with bigger retro wheels with a noticeable staggered setup.
Although they wouldn't do it, I'd love to see these GRC's on the Z.

The Red 240-ified “Z” looks sooooo much better than the Z we’ll be getting it’s not even funny. THAT’S what the Z should look like from the front. While I like the idea of the 240 rear lighting panel, I’m indifferent about it as the 300ZX-like panel we’ll get is fine. Months ago I lamented on this board that the new Z’s headlights looked like neither a 240’s nor a 300ZX’s. That the red Z above looks gorgeous from the front justifies my sentiments. If there is some conversion that’ll be available for the front quarter panels so the Z will actually look like a Z (240Z), I’m in. As it stands, I’ll reassert that the existing headlights of the new Z are by far its worst design feature - worse than even the gaping maw grille - and don’t resemble ANY Z’s headlights yet they sadly dominate the Z’s appearance.

Proportions of off like crazy but it is to be expected when you mesh designs together that are decades apart. It will never work.

Looks are generally considered “subjective”, but in this case, the Z’s design, unlike the 240 Z’s, is not universally praised and many note its awkwardness, particularly at the front end which is dominated by those fugly headlights (which haven’t improved since the Proto debuted) and the gaping maw (which has been improved since the debut). So I should buy a 240 one says, but I want the Z’s anticipated performance. I like to think I can aspire to have the best of both worlds and cross my fingers that those Z-adapted 240-like front fenders become available. I wouldn’t change anything else on the car as I can live with the grille. I can even live with the headlights, but given the choice I wouldn’t have to. To each their own.

I remember hearing somehow (perhaps it was an interview?) that Nissan initially wanted the headlights to be round, but for some reason they said they couldn’t get it done. I can’t recall their reasoning at the moment though.
