No offense to anyone doing those renderings, but they are moving backwards in terms of styling... back to the recent days of overstyling and 'controversial' design choices.

Z35 needs more timelessness, not more flamboyance and over-styling.

It needs to be as classy looking as possible.

A boy-racer Z won't mean hard-times for GR Supra... which is also an aesthetic irritation.

An instant classic Z would mean a resurgence of mainstream automotive enthusiasm for affordable sports cars, where others have missed the mark.

240Z was that kind of car. An affordable, reliable alternative to the likes of Jaguar E-type, Triumph GT6, and others, and even when it was at the bottom of it's depreciation curve, it was still pretty well regarded as a classic car.

Unpopular cars when new, seldom become widely well regarded later, and performance coupes that can't pull off the looks are immediately at a disadvantage... and people might as well get something more practical if there isn't distinct visual appeal.

That is an interesting car, but it isn't a Z. I am not against FF/GT4 Lusso, Clown-shoe Z3 coupe, MGB-GT, and others.. but I think messing with the Z's tradition would create more animosity than the few people that would appeal to.

Frankly, if there would be a second Z body-style other than the 3-door coupe, it should be a 2-door folding hard-top spyder.

Like an affordable version of this:


It would be a much easier conversion than the shooting brake, and a much more popular bodystyle than the soft-top convertible Z33 and Z34.
