I saw this yesterday and it gave me a flashback of my horrible experience with buying our pathfinder. I was so bitter all day I forgot to post this.

It's in demand cause customers clued in that Kia isn't some bargain basement brand anymore, and their new models are loaded to the gills with competitive features and tech. Plus the Telluride is very "rugged and muscular" looking, which is very trendy right now.

I hope that Nissan will be tough on dealers for our benefit and even on their end, especially since they haven't been doing that well lately.

This is totally true. In December I had been looking at a new GTR. Local dealer started at 5k over MSRP. After a bit I had actually decided to pull the trigger and asked to talk with the finance manger to workout the details. They told me they wouldn't get me in touch with them until I gave them a 5k deposit. But, the car is still sitting there. They have now jumped the price from 5k, to 10k , then 15k and now 20k over MSRP. I guess their thinking is it hasn't sold so making it more expensive makes it more desirable? I don't get the car market right now that's for sure.

That's insane but normal these days (crazy to say that) and I guess they're just waiting for someone that wants it more than they want a good deal. Lots of those folks around. Would you buy a used GT-R or only new?

i would buy a used one, in general. For me given the experience I had with Nissan on a previous GTR I owned that was used I decided if I got another it would be new. But that’s just me, I think history has shown used GTRs are very reliable but Inwould make sure to be diligent in service history and use just given the cost for replacement or repair on engine and transmission.
