I was at the NY Auto Show the other day looking at the 2 cars on display and while talking to the Nissan spokes people they revealed some rather interesting information that I was wondering if anyone could confirm or debunk. They made the claim that all the Proto Spec cars had already been sold and that they were allegedly sold for over six figures, and they also said that the Ikazuki Yellow would not be available on any other trims (such as performance) and is a Proto Spec exclusive (which I thought only had the exclusive yellow leather, bronze wheels and yellow brakes). They also had told me that an order program would not be in place and that all cars were to be pre spec’d and sent to dealers, where everything would be first come first serve, apparently to combat markups (which to me makes no sense at all). Has anyone else heard this? I made the rounds a few times and both sets of people working the displays gave me the same information which seems bizarre. I suspect they have no idea what they are talking about but I was wondering if anyone has heard the same.
