Hey Z fans. I am John Bontrager from Central Indiana. I own and drive 3 different Z cars. My pride and joy is my 1971 240z. It is a 6 yr nut and bolt restomod completed mostly my own hands. A few highlights of this car are that it has a 280zx 3ltr Stroker Rebello Built Engine with triple mikunis @325hp and the Suspension if full Techno Toy tuning aftermarket. I also own an original 1990 300zx 2+2 with 44k original miles in mint condition. I also own one of the New 2023 Nissan Proto Spec manual trans Z's. Hope to gather some more Z knowledge on this forum and share some of mine.
Welcome to the forum! Would love to see pics of your Zs. You probably own all of the best generations.
Any mods and/or accessories you're planning to do to your Proto Spec?

Mods for the Proto Z will be the following: First is a Lithium Battery switch to lose 28lbs of weight. I will show the custom design bracket and battery I am going with early next week. 2nd is a New Exhaust. The factory exhaust is way to quiet for me taste. I am leaving towards the Nismo Track Option to keep it Nissan DNA. Those will be my first two mods. I will later add Nismo touches and eventually add Coilovers. I will wait to see what is offered by the aftermarket after more options are available. Pics of the 71 240 will be uploaded later as I am putting the final touches on that car in the next several months.

Looking forward to seeing those mods. You should probably start a build thread here:
BTW, why the Z when you have a C8?

Howdy!

I've already posted it a few places, but I picked up my Z on December 30th in Saskatchewan, Canada. She's a Performance with the manual trans in Seiran Blue. Glad to be part of the group!

My other cars I currently own are a big turbo 2017 focus ST, running a BNR2867 on stock fuel, tuned by Alan Jackson at Edge Autosport. Haven't dynoed it, but it should be making 300-330WHP. And my other car is a basic, mostly stock 2009 BMW 328xi that I winter drive in the snow.

Happy to meet y'alls!

Thanks. I'm trying to find a Performance, manual, seiran blue, graphite interior in San Diego. Seems pretty challenging. I did get a chance to check out a Proto Spec at the dealership, but the markup was outrageous, and I like the blue much better than the yellow. Are people finding these cars to be available?

Welcome to the forum. How much was the markup?
Have you tried searching for an allocation from a dealer in a small town? That seems to be working for some people, even on the markup end where they're just paying MSRP.

The Proto Spec was $30k over. I felt a bit bad for it. It was in the back of the lot under a car port, dirty from the recent rains. It should be out there being driven, but instead it was just parked. Nice to see it in person. The bronze wheels look great.
