I've been reading lots of different expectations about the new Z. Some want less weight, others want a lot more power, some want a T-Top, all sorts of different wants for the new Z. So what's the one thing the new Z must have for you to buy one?

For me, it's a manual transmission. Call me old-school, but the manual is important to me, and I'd be okay with the manual only being on an entry-level four-cylinder turbo version, but of course I'd prefer it on the TT V6. If the new Z doesn't offer a manual, I will look more seriously at other new cars. How about you, what are you looking for on the new Z?

Weight in this day and time is a hard due to cost and to many safety regulations have to be.
Manual transmission I feel is definitely going to be. If not that’s going to be a hard pill to swallow. I plan to track my car and a auto WON’T cut it.

I’d like to see
1. Good gear type LSD
2. BBK, six piston monoblock or optional GTR BBK as factory option.
3. Double wishbone suspension
4. Recaro seat options

I would also say rev matching in addition to the manual.
I feel rev matching will be there due to they have it on the 370’s and it’s very successful.

I actually want cloth for better grip in the turns 😂
Yes. Lol. That’s why I’d like to see Recaro seats in cloth. Also would be ready for a harness. Sure cloth and leather will be options certain models.

I can definitely agree to pretty much all of the above.

TT Motor (but not so much power, it disturbed sales of the GTR)
LSD
Recaro seats (Optioned)
Elec damping control (comfort/\sport)
GTR Brake upgrade (Optioned)
BETTER ENGINE COOLING!!!

Android Auto / Apple Carplay (unit design that can be up-gradable in the future, unlike the 370)
Reasonable Interior storage
Better drink holder placement 😂
Intercooler spray ?

Like most here, top on my list is 6 spd manual (not so much on rev matching, more electronics).

2) LSD
3) Adjustable suspension settings - camber caster etc.
4) maybe...electronic damping control if reliable
5) dual mode exhaust, i.e. track mode

Another vote for a manual gearbox.

Brighter headlights (especially on dipped beam) please!

I like the current half leather seats. Full leather seats don't hold you well and get really hot in summer. Also, if Nissan insist on making the seats electrically adjustable (i.e. adding unnecessary weight to the car) then at least give them a memory function!

There are also a whole host of 'nice to haves' which could be written in software for a bit of benefit and very little extra cost - follow me home lights, auto locking, auto-dip door mirror when reversing, etc. I'd like to see the ability to configure more options from the Infotainment system and not need a visit the dealer and their Consult software.

I guess it will have an associated phone app with the car, so how about some useful build in features like a configurable rev or speed limiter / valet mode?

Definitely a manual box, with rev matching - I think that is a given.

Lighter weight - the advantages are obvious, hoping for at least a 300 pound drop, the 370z is a boat anchor. Doable with aluminium and ultra high strength steel, but Nissan may decide it drives the costs too high. I'd much rather have lighter weight than more power.

Better visibility rearward. I know, very unlikely. But please don't go the Supra route and make it worse. And include the electronic substitutes for missing sightlines like BSM and RCTA as standard equipment. A digital rear view mirror like the C8's would be fantastic but probably too much to hope for.

Better seats. The standard seats on the 370 are a bit of a joke; make the Nismo ones standard.

Nice to have, but not deal-killers for me if missing: adaptive suspension, a true e-diff, active exhaust valving..

Yeah for me, a manual is just the start (like many others). It's gotta be the whole package: compelling interior/exterior styling, either modern hp or decently lower weight, and a stock setup that won't require substantial changes to hold up to a track day. I'd rather have nissan focus on the basics than try to fit in all sorts of tech. I do not want and will not pay for automated driving features or other "advanced" safety systems. If they offer such things, hopefully it will be relegated to a package.
