If you already negotiated a good deal on the Z or have experience with other new car purchases, please share any tips and pointers you have here. I'm hoping to get a Z at invoice, along with any deals, rebates and discounts available to bring price down further (if possible).
I'm in car sales. I plan to try and get a Z as well.
A Z at invoice will likely be impossible for the next 2 years, unless you know somebody.
Even someone working at a Nissan probably won't get invoice.
Keep in mind interest rates are higher then usual, 3-5% is a good rate even for 800s now. Shop interest by going through other lenders / credit unions.
Negotiate in person.
You have to give something to get something, so offer a google review or something, it means a lot more then you'd think.
You can try to negotiate for oil changes, floor mats, tint, those are easier then price.
Easiest way to negotiate is be quiet and say less then the other person.
From the dealer perspective, the customer is the lucky one that's getting a Z.
And the mindset is, if you don't buy it someone will.
The Z won't be a sitter, it's going to sell at least for the first few months.
A dealer will likely never sell it invoice, if the Z was a sitter / loser, they could just auction it and make more then sticker.
Also there isn't discounts for cash buyers. Dealers prefer if you actually finance, it makes them more money.
If you want a Z at msrp or invoice you should be contacting 100 dealerships already.
Hoping everyone can find the Z they want and for the price they want.
The hard part is finding the Z you want lol.
I only want the red Performance lol.
If you want to wait till Z's hit dealers and are more available, then make sure you go in on the last few days of the month, that's when dealers will be willing to negotiate.
Oh also try to get the salesperson that will actually stay in contact with you and call you when they get the first Z.
The old guy whos been there forever probably doesn't even know what the new Z looks like.
