Hello Rusty!
I'm getting a Boulder Grey on blue 6spd performance spec.

Due to living in a very snowy area I'd likely get the Golf R as my all season car and the Nissan Z as my summer car. The C8 Corvette is less of a priority for me now.

I get a lot of stares when I tell people I'm buying two new cars but I've been driving a very modest used Mazda 3 for the past decade which only cost me 6k and would likely sell for similar. I've been saving aggressively this whole time and after covid I realised I'd rather spend some money and be happy while I'm still young and able.

Weird thing is I get the most comments about how dumb my plan is from people that have 1 car worth the price of my Golf R and Z lol. Paying two insurances seems to be the only downside to me. Wear and tear/maintenance would be shared amongst the two vehicles as well so overall cost of ownership would roughly even out versus just 1 expensive vehicle.

You really can't go wrong a Z and Golf R in your garage! If you have the means to do it then don't let anyone tell you otherwise. It's certainly better than a truck or SUV that these days that go for ridiculous money.

I asked the claims department, and they said as long as I don't modify the motor I would be fine, and that the downpipes were considered part of the exhaust system. I'll probably start with just the exhaust, and do the downpipes next winter. I figured it wouldn't hurt to buy them now as they are only going to go up in price in the future

I've owned a BMW 335i (twin tubro N54) and the difference that downpipes make in terms of noise and performance is insane. The turbos face A LOT of resistance from stock downpipes and I doubt Nissan is different. Would you be doing a high flow or catless? TJ Hunt on youtube did full downpipes and exhaust on his car check out the vid if you haven't seen it.

Personally I'm just looking at catback systems for now. I went to my local dealer today and they recieved a Z demo car (base model 9spd auto) and the noise was very sufficient for me. From what I've read is that the 6spd manual sounds a lot quieter for some reason. My goal would be to get my 6spd more inline with the sound of the 9spd.

Obviously I won't know what I really need to do til I hear my car in person. You're gonna have a wicked Z can't wait to see some vids!

Ya man! They got a demo in on Xmas Eve day, beautiful car. Supposedly every dealer is supposed to get one allocation for demo purposes or sale if they want. Most seem to be holding onto them for display

Called my local and they just got one! Base model and 9spd but I got to start it and play with it. It is soo utterly beautiful! My face was hurting on the drive home and I realised I hadn't stopped smiling for the past 20 minutes lol. I'm soo happy I chose this car over the Supra, I never clicked with the Supra.

That interior is the shizzle. They should dump those two tone jobs IMO. And the blue is my favorite exterior from what I seen so far. Cant warm up to the bananna. Have fun!! May be one in my future when the dust settles in a year or two.

are they exact fit bolton or you need to weld any parts?

Hey! Just joined the forum. Looks like we got the exact spec, on the exact same day! Have you driven yours yet? I'm also in Canada and I'm dying to get it on the road and broken in. I'm in Sask and I ain't gonna drive er in the snow, so I have to suck up waiting 3 or 4 months until I can.

Poor? More like horrendous. One of the most over promised and under delivered product rollout I can think of in my 60 years. Ok..other than maybe "new coke".

You are right! Nissan did a horrible job, especially for those of us like me who preordered their 350Zs when it was launched. I'm afraid I disagree with you about it being worth it. The more I've learned about the new Z the less interest I have in it. It has way to many carryover parts, isn't anywhere near a leader in its class and its costly for what it is. For now I'll keep my 1LE Camaro, which btw will outperform the Z all day and costs less.

Yes, but everyone goes for the Camaro and they’re so many. I was debating this or the same model you have. I’d rather be different and aftermarket parts are endless

Not as many Camaros as there are Mustangs and Challengers. And certainly a lot fewer 1LEs like I have. I've only seen two other 1LEs in my area during the almost one year I've owned mine.

I did, I looked at all that were available, as well I looked at all the exhausts that are available for the Q50, and Q60 since it would be the same exhaust note (same engine). I ended up liking the MAP sound the best, and with the discounts at the time was a bargain compared to the other options. This was especially true comparing the downpipes to AMS, same high flow cats, where the MAP downpipes were $700 and AMS $1800! Surprised no one except Nismo has a CAI yet, wondering if the AMS intakes for a Q60 bolt up.
