Some great video footage of Z event at Z Car Garage! They were able to record what the Bose system sounds like (2:28 mark) and the Z revving up (7:28 mark)
Welcome @-Strike-! Do you have a plan on how you'll adjust the exhaust?A little more engine noise than exhaust in this video. It's pretty quiet. I will definitely be adjusting mine![]()
This video does a much better job at letting hear the engine and exhaust, best of all, Nissan produced it.A little more engine noise than exhaust in this video. It's pretty quiet. I will definitely be adjusting mine![]()
I think the same, I want some sound a blow off sound as well.A little more engine noise than exhaust in this video. It's pretty quiet. I will definitely be adjusting mine![]()
There is a good chance that exhaust sound isn't realistic, Nissan's marketing dept. may have added its own "enhancements" in the editing process. Hope that is not the case as I love the sound here. This video does a much better job at letting hear the engine and exhaust, best of all, Nissan produced it.

There might be a market here for a high end headers-back $10,000+ setup. Of course, built-to-order.Of course, and it's also worth pointing out that outside exhaust note =/= in the cabin exhaust note/feedback. When you watch the new z06 on notice video, you learn they had to redesign the whole exhaust system to be great outside, as well as give good driver feedback. Our vehicles will be ~1/3rd the price, so no one is redesigning the exhaust on that budget. We're getting the noise piped in artificially, I'm sure. We'll disable that and install aftermarket exhaust instead.
This video definitely confirms the Z doesn’t sound anywhere near as nice as a 370Z/G37S in stock form - at least to anyone with a discerning ear. It’s not a dealbreaker but anyone who knows cars knows that all else being equal, when comparing apples to apples, hands down, NA sounds better than turbos. I have an HKS Hi Power catback on my G37S Coupe 6MT and it sounds amazing with no drone. Ark sounds marginally better than mine and others closely straddle the line, but all are better than the Z so I hope the aftermarket can come close to what is being lost with the addition of turbos to the venerable Nissan V6.Some great video footage of Z event at Z Car Garage! I completely agree. Having owned 3 Zs, then driving a Q60RS for the last 3 years, I couldn't agree more. First thing I did to the Q was lower down pipes and a CBE but the VQ NA has always still been my favorite. I think we can get the new Z sounding good too, but it will be neutered from the factory. With the exhaust and HKS BOV, the Q did sound pretty damn good so I'm excited for what's to comeThis video definitely confirms the Z doesn’t sound anywhere near as nice as a 370Z/G37S in stock form - at least to anyone with a discerning ear. Nice to know there are workarounds.I completely agree. Having owned 3 Zs, then driving a Q60RS for the last 3 years, I couldn't agree more. Honestly I hope not since those were just axle backs and had no real performance gains. Will be interesting to seeI wonder if the upgraded exhaust on the Performance trim is similar (or the same) to the Infiniti Performance Exhaust that was offered as a dealer-installed upgrade on the Q60 (Infiniti Part No. B0100Q60ST). Wouldn't surprise me.
Oh, they weren't functional, performance-wise? Well, that's rubbish. On the other hand, they evidently sound much nicer.Honestly I hope not since those were just asked backs and had no real performance gains. Will be interesting to see
