According to an article that Autocar published, we should expect the new Z car to be a twin with the next Infinit Q60.

The also mention that the Z car has been given the codename Z35.

The forthcoming model is known internally as the Z35 – a codename that continues a process started with the Z31 model launched in 1983. It has been twinned with the next Infiniti Q60, with which it will share its rear-wheel-drive platform, engine line-up and electric system, according to senior officials from Nissan.

Twinning the Z35 with the next Q60 makes all the sense in the world to spread development costs. That started way back with the original 350Z being a twin with the Infinit G35.

Nissan should have also twinned the GT-R into an Infiniti supercar slaying beast, but that never happened unfortunately.
It bugs me that they never did that with Infiniti, instead they focused Infiniti's efforts towards making massive land yacht SUVs...
Yep. Nissan has another chance with the Z35 though because I'll bet the Z35 is going to be a seriously fast car. Maybe not as fast as an R35 GT-R, but probably not much slower. The Infiniti Q60 version should be incredibly fast.
It’s probable that the car launched later in the year will not be the Z35. I believe the all new Z35 has been pushed back to ‘25. What we will see is an updated Z34. It will be the current car with the 3.0 TT motor, new front/rear end and updated interior.
That's an interesting rumor, sounds plausible to me, I would be disappointed though because I'm hoping after all this time that Nissan is ready to launch something brand new.
That could be true, but the author of that Forbes article doesn't mention any sources...
Nothing new here but this is one of a few articles written over the last day or so claiming to confirm many of the rumors.
Is the rendering in that Autocar article new?

They sound reasonably certain that the new model will be called 400Z, and that the 370Z at SEMA, with the twin-turbo VQ, was a preview at what is to come.

That’s a new re during but some the Autocar did. It’s clearly not retro even though they reiterate they hear the car is retro.
You're right, it is odd that the rendering was not retro despite the article...
