I wish we had some clarification what this means as isn't a dealer ordering the color and trim the customer wants a pre order? Or were we assuming there would be some type of national order bank through Nissan? Not sure how that would have worked? Or does it mean dealers are just going to get what they get sent. If certainly hope that's not the case

I'm hoping it means a national order bank and we'll deal with everything off the Nissan website than with individual dealers. Otherwise it's just going to be a giant free for all with people trying to find the right spec.

As part of my daily routine I comb the internet looking for anything Z related that is new for the day and part of that requires me to read Facebook posts... and man all the posts about random people putting money down and preordering these cars is really making my head hurt. There is a bit of an information vacuum from Nissan on this and its being filled with so much BS. Im seeing it from both sides the buyer and dealers. Looking forward to some clarity this fall but in the mean time its wild to read some of this 🍿

Don't want to be a downer on this but no matter what we do in 'talks' with dealers we're at their mercy for these first allocations, ADM for sure and no guarantees with any deposits. The later ordering after the mad rush is a better bet on getting what you want at closer to MSRP.

yeah you're not wrong. without a preorder system getting the color you want the price you want ( will accept) and the timeframe you want it. seems really hard to line up in this car market when dealers unfortunately have more leverage than they ever have had before
I would like to have mine in time to take to Zdayz 2022 but who knows

I saw this posted in one of the Z facebook groups and if this is true then things are going to be insane. @DAN_PASSE and Nissan need to clarify this as soon as possible.

Yep, already started, it’ll be a bidding war and we’re so early yet. I’m sure many will just pay up to be the ‘first’. It’s a known pattern.

Yeah every time a new vehicle comes out, regardless of it being a sports car or not, there's always going to be people with more money than sense that'll happy pay those gouging prices.

People need to stop calling dealerships. We know it isn't coming until Spring and we know they are not taking pre-orders. Literally the only thing you're accomplishing by calling them is showing them there is a lot of hype and demand which gives them justification to mark them up. Just be patient and wait quietly for Spring.
From the sounds of things it must suck to buy cars in the states where it seems the dealers dictate the price. Although you guys do get most cars a lot cheaper even after currency conversions.
Over here 99% of dealers will be around the same price close to the msrp.
Do you guys have factory backed dealers there? We have lots of factory backed dealers here so if other dealers want to compete or sell cars they pretty much have to follow the factory backed ones in terms of price.

Best to establish a relationship through service, even if you DON'T drive a Nissan. Get to know management.

Yeah if I was working at a dealer and dealt with orders/allocations I wouldn't give it to someone that just called the most. I'd be more likely to give it to someone that's bought and/or serviced cars at my dealership regularly. Someone who actually spends the money.
