Some interesting tips here for what's the best way to try and get a Z.

According to this guy there's a dealer event on this weekend where people are getting to drive the cars and find out about allocations spots.

Full of speculation. Take this with a grain of salt.

Deal with the largest dealer in your area, go there...don't call. Establish rapport with management. Do NOT give a "non-refundable" deposit. If you go out of state, most have reciprocal relationships with neighboring states' taxing authority, so you won't have to involve your local dealer in any trade scenario as the video describes.
It’s also kinda silly to assume you just take what you can get lol if the dealer has 5 allotments and 5 customers lined up,, they’re gonna build your exact spec and deliver it.
Right. The days of ordering your car is mostly confined to a couple of domestic plates, none imported.

If you can find a store that will search for your dream car, and then be able to dealer trade with the dealer who has it, that is one way.

Building the car on Nissan's website, then being matched with available inventory/dealers nationwide - that's the other. You can create a little vacation by buying out of your area and driving back.

Just be sure to take off the dealer advertising from the car before you bring it in to your local store for service. 😛
