I know it won’t. But it would nice if they could incorporate a rear mounted transmission. Shift weight and the weight being over the rear end. Just dreaming.
I heard that this would be a limited edition run of only 200 vehicles. As a result, the cost would be sky high.Nissan are usually conservative. Its a shame because there are rumours of a 510 hp GRMN Supra using the m3 engine
I'm a stick shift guy... but I think the DCT is a MUST!Nismo variant with 450+ hp and a dual clutch transmission
Absolutely not. The Supra was absent and while having joining forces with BMW which seems to only make mostly autos. But Toyota did just make an announcement they will introduce a manual along with other options and it will be limited with obvious higher cost. I feel Nissan not only will continue the manual as they know there’s a demand for it but this will be their bread and butter over any others. The manual Nissan already has for the Z has always been great and I’m sure they’ll improve upon it even more.Anyone think Nissan will pull a Supra and eliminate the manual transmission?
Is there an official Toyota announcement now? I heard a rumor that Toyota was going to offer a manual in the Supra soon, but I didn't know if it was official. But Toyota did just make an announcement they will introduce a manual along with other options and it will be limited with obvious higher cost. Not 100% official as you now how it goes. But it’s rumored from reliable sources. Here one of a few. Nissan's product development team has to be watching this, and if Toyota feels a manual is necessary to connect with enthusiasts, then that will help build the case at Nissan's HQ to continue to offer a manual on the Z.
BMW is already deep in its plans for the 2021 M3 with the manual option, but there's nothing yet definite about the Supra, it is a somewhat strained relationship. Anyway, Nissan had better keep all this in mind in pushing out the Z, or will again be underperformed and not a contender. I'm sure at least the manual will be offered. Otherwise I'll shop elsewhere, sorry. Not 100% official as you now how it goes. But it’s rumored from reliable sources. Here one of a few. Long-Rumored Toyota Supra Manual May Be Closer to Reality
Funny some sources are saying BMW is not going let Toyota even experiment with it and even then BMW is going to be sourcing it out. Just a very odd relationship between the two.
That drive by wire garbage is awful. This is where I feel Nissan hits it on the head. This next Z I feel will still have basics to keep cost down. So ready for the details. Chassis, front mount intercooler, LSD and what it will be called?Reviewing what's on the Q60 Red again, I'm hoping two things will NOT be in the 400Z - lifeless steering by wire, excessive road noise in cabin - please at least improve on these since the existing architecture will be used. Of course, lighter weight materials on hood, roof, hatch will be awesome!
If they do they lost me as a customer. Same reason I own a Skyline GT-R not a GTR and I don't care that it shifts "faster" it just loses something to me.Anyone think Nissan will pull a Supra and eliminate the manual transmission?
