Definitely all of the fluid changes will be done by myself. Redline is the nearest major manufacturer so I’m going with them. They’ll be in my engine, transmission and fuel treatment.

I used to use the motul with the NISMO oil filter for my GTR. but it got expensive as you could only get those filters off ebay from importers so i switched just to the mobil 1 annual filters

Is that a larger filter? I hear they make a BIG difference but haven't tried myself.
Always order the OE filter or an aftermarket equivalent (Fram, K&N, etc.)

I tend to do as much work on my vehicles as I can. I've got a 2-post lift at my house so it helps a lot.

I used to take my Q60 to the dealership for everything except modifications.

But, recently Nissan/Infiniti discontinued the Japanese-made wiper inserts (I'm that OCD) and then I found out that the Nissan OEM oil filters are made in China, I stopped taking my car to the dealership. I didn't bother to ask if they'd allow me to bring my own filter.

I am not a big fan of changing oil or doing under-car service in my driveway. I especially dislike disposal of the used fluids. Especially considering cost of supplies, sometimes dealership has really good service deals.

I'll have to see how grumpy I am when I own the new Z. Maybe someday I'll get a home with a proper garage with a proper lift, I would definitely do all work myself if I had those things.

im buying my Z from a dealer out of state( just across the state line) so I got a local shop that is like an auto accessory wheel and tire place that will do most of my oil changes inspections ect. the owner is a friend so if i bring my own oil and filter he charges like $20 for labor even on my GTR

Initially, I'd leave it to the professionals and watch closely how and what they do just to check what's where. I'll then try doing petty stuff myself and then gradually get into more details. Will this be the right approach?

Unless it's work that's going to be covered by warranty, I'll be doing all of it myself. In Canada, warranty only states work needs to be done by a licensed technician, which I am.

Do you just go with OEM or OEM spec aftermarket parts or do you try to go for the more premium and higher performing stuff when you can? Planning to do some work myself and spend what I save on labor on better parts.
