I'm hoping that they will say the Z will have a fully galvannealed (not galvanized) chassis (except for alumnium and composite components) with impact resistant structural adhesive applied to every seam. And then bathed in anti corrosion wax.

If they can't meet these standards...then...no real point in buying something that will fall apart within 15 - 20 years.

Edit: I realize this may sound overkill or unattainable to some, but this is how most Euros are built. Yes you'll be replacing the window motors and switches more often, but at least you can keep it running forever.

I the biggest surprise I'll be up for is if they do sell the base model at the exact same price as the z34. It's basically a z34 platform with a vr30 and new shell.

I'd love for them to do a real curveball and announce something like the Nismo would have a factory made VR38DETT (not handmade) with like 500+ HP... Maybe in the low $60k range... it would be a supercar killer. But alas, I highly doubt this... one can dream though?

1. Keeps the base under $35k
2. Prevents dealer markup

I can't emphasize on how important in preventing that dealer markup is. I spent 3 weeks, back-n-forth with Infiniti to get the QX50 with a VQ. I went to several dealers and at the end, I ended up going to the first dealer because I liked the seller's professionalism and the fact that he wasn't outright trying to sell the car. Instead, he took his time and gave us plenty of space. At the end, he got me the color I like and sold it to me at MSRP. We spent four hours with him to close the deal. We all went home happy that night (seller, manager and ourselves).

I don't mind another few years of payment on a car I'll enjoy as my DD.

If those numbers are true, I'll have to test drive one. If it fits my taste, I'm getting one!!!

Pretty much know the basics of what we'll be getting, so a nice surprise for me would be upgraded interior options. Let me spend 2k on a leather upgrade that has a bit of a higher quality look and feel to it. That probably won't happen as this isn't a ZX but it would be a nice option.

Price, availability, and controlling their dealers from marking them up into oblivion pricing them outside the range of their audience. $5k+ ADM will be only for the goofs that make worthless YouTube vids with thumbnails of them pointing at the car and terrible colored fonts starting with "you won't believe...."

Be surprised if the new Z offers something the GR86 has, scrollable monitoring info. At least this one view that tracks hp and torque is nice to have, helpful after modding.

I totally agree. Would you want it to take after any previous Z cars?
Fortunately here it sure looks like Nissan will add it.
