Absolutely: price. Maybe that's a bit too obvious an answer, but since it's generally the 1st or 2nd determining factor in vehicle shopping, it's a pretty relevant one.

Setting aside any potential markups, if the Z is too pricey, I obviously won't be ordering one.

From everything I've seen on the forum so far, most of us seem hell bent on ordering a Z as soon as Nissan opens orders...

But is there anything that will or could stop you from ordering one? Is there another car you're consider along with the Z? Is there a certain markup threshold you won't go to? Is there a certain option/feature that Nissan isn't offering on the Z that's a deal breaker? Does it all depend on a test drive?

This is the first Nissan Z since the Z32 that I’m truly excited about. Everything from the retro-modern styling to the 400 hp Twin Turbo V6, to the 6- speed manual option, the Z will be the best value on the market again. The passion behind the car makes this a true evolution of what the Z represents. The performance package is a must and I assume this model will approach the $50k mark so I’ll plan on spending around that amount fully loaded.

However, I will not pull the trigger if I can’t get at least one dealer to provide one at MSRP or below. The only other cars that I would consider are a pre-owned 2019 or newer Infiniti Q60 Red Sport or 2020 BMW M340i.

I'm surprised that it's even legal for retailers to ask.

I'm 90% on board. I still would like to see some hands on reviews, a complete spec sheet and take one for a test drive. There are still plenty of unknowns that could change things.

As others have said, dealers. SRP seems like it should be reasonable, but if ADM is rampant, or I can't find an at least partially standup dealer, that will definitely keep me away. Buying the R was eventually painless, but I had to wade through a lot of ADM, forced accessory adds, and "These cars are HOT, no set price we're taking best offer." before I found a dealership that wasn't interested in scumbagging me.

Welcome to the forum @DarkPhysicx! Wow that's a nuts situation to be in. I hope that gets settled soon soon. I think it's safe to say that even if it's a bit above $40K the starting price is still going to be much lower than the Supra.

!00%, a penny over MSRP would be a deal breaker for me as well.

Have you started to inquire at local dealers about the Z?
Some might have already started waiting lists and with that maybe commit to nothing extra over MSRP?

Thank you! I hope so too, not just to get this car but all my future large purchases like a home. Let's hope so! I think it's pretty safe to say too, just checked a 2020 Supra used with 4k miles is around $53k still.

I'm sure you know about annualcreditreport.com to pull your Bureaus and make disputes there. By law, they must respond to each dispute within thirty days.

If you have no auto or mortgage history, prepare for huge down payment and high rate. Your max payment will be limited by your income.

I've tried contacting them directly actually, Experian seems to be the only one updated. I'll try this out maybe it'll help.

I have 1 auto loan of about 11,000 cosigned my bros vehicle bc my credit was nice his wasn't, all his payments on time, the loan shows up on my credit checks. Income is no problem, registered nurse out in Chicago suburbs, it's good money. Only thing is I just started so by the time the Z comes out I may not have 1 year with the company. I know how much lenders love a long work tenure.

I retired from Lending last year. All I did was car loans.

Try to refi your brother's auto in his name only. Lenders hate 2nd rides, as that's what it looks like. You also don't want the chance of a surprise 30 day late between now and your Z purchase.

Lenders look first at stability in same line of work, and not necessarily at time at same employer, especially the past 1.5 years. Nursing is a somewhat transitory field anyway. Banks like degrees and certifications, too. In healthcare, you'll always have a job. My wife is a 30 year nurse. Bless you for your sacrificial service lately.

I would suggest joining a local Credit Union ASAP. Better rates, more personal service, can be more flexible on loan decisioning.

Also, use Experian Boost to include your bills, and see if your landlord can report to your Bureaus - all three of them. Make sure you don't have more than 15-20% usage of your credit card/unsecured loan accounts.

Annualcreditreport.com was set up by the government to help consumers, and to make Bureaus more responsive, hence the 30 day rule on disputes. If you have older accounts - more than seven years - they may have dropped off due to age and inactivity.
