Any bets on if you think Nissan might actually surprise us with a 7-speed unit?

I have no idea how hard that would be to engineer.

Part of me thinks: there's now way. The car is a platform update, not an all new car. So they won't go crazy re-engineering the rest of it.

The other half things: sure, why not. They're focusing on it... so maybe they have some big news there. And if they aren't building an entirely new chassis, then they have resources to do things like... make a 7speed manual!

I doubt it. But I’d liked to know how different this manual transmission will be from the previous. Gearing or if it’s build a littler tougher considering the bump in power. The Z’z transmissions have been very reliable. Even with guys with built motor and high boost.

I'm expecting 6-speed. Nissan isn't really in a position to develop a brand new manual transmission.

A good business case is to stick with the 6-speed and save the 7 for a mid-cycle update
