Will your next car be electric?

Has anyone thought about if their next car will be an EV or when they'll buy an EV? The deadline for Nissan and other car companies to stop making gas cars is getting closer and closer.

If you have thought about an EV what one would you get? I haven't driven either one but something like the EV6 or Ioniq 5 peaks my interest as something that could be fun to own.

I'm hoping my next car with be a Z-shaped electric: small, two-seats, and fun without costing a fortune. If there was something like that on the market today, the Z might have lost.

The Tesla Model 3 was in the running this time around. On paper:
  • It's only slightly more expensive than the Z I picked ($54,990 vs $54,500)
  • It's faster to 60mph (3.1s vs 4.3s)
  • It's more powerful (455hp vs 400hp)

But it's a boring 4-door sedan. Blah.

Answer is no and never for me. Old enough it will never be a factor.

No, no chance. No place to charge in my condo complex. Plus, too many limitations still.
Perhaps a plug-in hybrid in the role of daily driver car. Current plug-in hybrids get 40+ miles of pure electric driving which accounts for 99% of my driving days in that vehicle. They charge overnight using a standard 110V wall outlet. Thus, it would rarely need gas, and that's an attractive thought. That said, my wife and I have four cars - 2 daily drivers, 1 seven-passenger SUV, and one sports car, so we have some flexibility in selecting daily drivers.
Has it crossed my mind? Yes it has and I've been reading up on new EVs as they come out. But that's going to be a while away. My next car is still going to be gas powered. Maybe a hybrid at the most.
